Should You Buy MLM Leads? By Richard Harden For many years, there have been two schools of thought regarding whether you should buy MLM leads, or work to develop your own mailing list. There are advantages and disadvantages to both of them, but the one thing that is completely certain – you must be careful what you buy and from whom, or you could find yourself in big trouble. When you buy MLM leads, you put yourself at risk of getting email addresses that are either non-existent, or belong to people who did not authorize their names to be sold. Either way, you are wasting your money. In the latter case, you could get into trouble when they think that you are spamming them. Many internet service providers now have a “zero tolerance” for spammers, and just one complaint from someone on your mailing list could result in your entire site being pulled down from the web. However, building your own email list is time-consuming, and not very efficient. As a matter of fact, by the time you get your list complete, and feel that it is big enough to start mass mailing to, many of the people on the list are not even interested in your product any more. So, what you gain in terms of an accurate email list, you lose in terms of time. The cost to buy MLM leads does vary from company to company, and you need to make sure that the list is guaranteed to be accurate and fully opt-in. This means that everyone on the list agreed to be mailed to. If not, then you could get into trouble. With all things on the web, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, so don’t buy leads that just sound way too cheap to you. They are probably fake email addresses and will do you no good.
